Met one of these cutie patoots at work today in the garden center!
I was watering some tulips when one of these guys buzzed past me. I though it was a bumblebee but I saw moth antenna, a proboscis, and a fuzzy butt. It’s a Snowberry Clearwing moth (Hemaris Diffinis)! It was so neat to watch it fly around, just like a hummingbird! These guys mimic bees so that predators won’t eat them! How neat, right? Oh bugs!
